The school, Siena, Tuscany, Italy

How to reach the school from Gramsci Square
From the bus station (P.zza Gramsci) to the Language School (Via T. Pendola) : Once you have arrived in Piazza Gramsci (the bus station - see the photo no. 1), go through Piazza Matteotti and continue in the direction for Piazza del Campo; you will pass the Piazza del Monte on your left (see photo no. 2), the headquarters for the Monte dei Paschi Bank of Siena. When you reach the ‘Croce del Travaglio’ (crossroads by the shops ‘Furla’ and ‘Sash’) continue straight on, keeping the Piazza on your left (see photo no. 3). This road will bring you to Via di Cittą, which you need to follow all the way along until Piazza Quattro Cantoni (another crossroads - see photo no. 4) which is easily recognizable for the column with the Sienese she-wolf on it. Turn left and continue down Via San Pietro (see photo no.5) until you reach another crossroads: turn right into Via Tommaso Pendola. Go straight on for about 200 meters and you will reach the school – we are the last building on your left).

6. The School

As you will have already seen, along the road you can catch glimpses of the many beautiful architectural and historical sights of our city.

How to reach Siena from...Siena is situated 60 km from Florence and from the coast. We advise students coming from Florence by train or plane to take the express coach to Siena. Florence’s bus station is located at the Piazza della Stazione S. Maria Novella on the right hand side. Ask for an express (“rapida”) or direct (“diretta”) ticket. Other nearby airports are at Pisa or Rome, both easily reached by train or coach. The school organises on request a pick-up service at extra charge.

FROM ROME
From Rome airport there are shuttle trains to the centre approx. every 15 minutes. From the centre you can catch a bus or train to Siena:   If you wish to take a bus to Siena, take a shuttle train to Roma TIBURTINA. If you wish to take a train, take a shuttle train to Roma TERMINI.
BY CAR  :
From the south take the motorway / freeway (Autostrada del Sole - the A1) and leave at Val di Chiana. Follow signs for Siena (2 lane road) for 50 Km.
